Katmasters started a COTM Team earlier this year to help out with the Pound Club program and our Catch Of The Month program. During the summer, time sorta took over the team dissolved. After much planning, the Team is back again and here to stay.

This team plays an important role in these 2 programs. Members will be awarded there pound club icons in a much more timely manner. This team also handles the COTM, in which winners will also be chosen quicker then before.

A big congrats and thank you to “PokerKat” and “mountiancat” for volunteering to handle the responsibilities of these two Katmasters’ programs.

This Month’s COTM goes to MadKatter for his MONUMENTAL flattie, measuring 57 inches in length and estimated at 85-90 Lbs. MK tells of his exploits landing this and other nice Kats with a couple of friends in his entry titled (Monster Flathead) in the story section. Links to the story are posted below.

Be sure to tell us all bout your fishing trip and post a pic or two to be considered for next months Catch of the Month award. It doesn’t have to be a Monster like MK’s beast, just an experience shared with all of us here at Katmasters.

This months Catch of the Month Award goes to CBH for his entry titled “Long night on the Ohio River.”

His story and pic shows just what can happen when you make the best of a bad situation. Stranded on a sand bar for several hours late at night after the water level dropped, lesser men would have ended up curled up into a ball on the floor of their boat.

CBH did what many of our kind would do… he fished!

The weather is heating up, along with the bite, so be sure to get your fishing stories and pics entered for consideration in next months contest!! CONGRATULATIONS CBH!!!

Congrats to “bluegrass kitty” on winning the Katmasters May 2007 Catch of the Month. While fishing Wyboo Lake in South Carolina, she lands her personal best flathead catfish. The catfish weighed in at 50 pounds.

As we finished with the picture taking and gently slid him back into the water, I cried. From the excitement. From the amazement. From the moment. A moment I will never, ever forget……….

Congrats to Eliott on winning the Katmasters April 2007 Catch of the Month. Eliott tells hows his fishing day starts out horrible with many things going wrong. The ending is a different story as he lands his personal best flathead catfish. When someone suggests that he keeps the fish to enter in a fishing contest with a $100 prize, you guys will enjoy hearing that Eliott released this fish to be caught another day.

“But I quickly decided that wouldn’t be right (I think you guys would agree with me on this decision) I wouldn’t sacrifice the life of this fish for a hundred bucks anyday.” Says Eliott.
